DJ Crisley @ Arnhem
Earlier
I was born in Curacao on the 16th of February. There I was already interested in Latin music. I tried pop and dance music but that did not work very well. Because of my interest in sound technique I worked as a technician at concerts with a friend of mine. My first big job was the Concert of Chayanne on Curacao. I continued my study in Venezuela where I bought my first salsa cd from "Jerry Rivera". Venezuela was nice but the study wasn`t really what I expected. The dancing was more than I expected but I had to make a living. So I moved on to Holland where I planned to graduate as a engineer in Computer Technics.
Dancer
In Arnhem I took my first dancing lessons at a Dancing School in Collumbian style. I noticed that I could not dance this style anywhere else so I changed into Puerto Rican style and skilled myself in LA Style. Dancing was not enough and I picked up my old hobby; being a DJ. My debut was in Oss at the Salsa Cafe. After spinning the roof of this place I became the resident Dj and also at another location in Hasselt.
Because of my graduation I took some time off but as soon as I finished my study I couldn`t wait to get behind the tables again.
Dj-ing
I started spinning in Herentals and Antwerpen (Axxes, Special thanks to Dj Pepe). Later on in Arnhem, Apeldoorn and Eindhoven. Now I am performing everywhere in Holland, Belgium and even crossed the Atlantic. I am not caught by one style of music. Every style has its charm and it does not matter if it is classic or commercialized. It is about the feeling you get when you hear the music, the influence that it have on your body and soul and makes you dance by heart. Every song has his special flow so I won`t withhold you from enjoying this feeling and dancing it. When I am performing I mix these two styles. I try to give you as dancer and salsalover the experience and satisfaction of a great salsa time.
Summer of 2005
The summer of 2005 I had the most incredible experience. I had the chance to share the table with the #1 salsa Dj of the world; Henry Knowles. I learned a lot and got very inspired. I want to thank Stephen (Curacao SalsaTour) and Henry Knowles for their contribution in this.
I am looking forward to pass through this energy and inspiration to all the dancers on the parties where I play my, or for that matter our, music.
See you soon on the dance floor so I can let you shiver with my music!
